เราอยากให้คุณลองมาชม มาฟังเรื่องเล่าจากพิพิธภัณฑ์ใน
เทศกาลพิพิธภัณฑ์ท้องถิ่น 2551 ณ ศูนย์มานุษยวิทยาสิรินธร (องค์การมหาชน)

ฟังเรื่องเล่า - รู้จักชุมชน ประวัติศาสตร์ ภูมิศาสตร์ การตั้งถิ่นฐาน การกินการอยู่ การละเล่น รู้จักเขารู้จักเรา จากปากคำของเจ้าของวัฒนธรรม

ฟื้นความหลัง - ดูข้าวของเครื่องใช้ เครื่องมือดักสัตว์ เครื่องมือทำนา ของเล่น งานศิลปะ ของจากโลกอดีต ของใหม่ในท้องถิ่น ฯลฯ ที่หาดูได้ยาก หรือคนส่วนใหญ่ไม่รู้จักแล้ว 

สร้างพลังท้องถิ่น - แบ่งปันความรู้และประสบการณ์ ร่วมให้กำลังใจชาวชุมชนที่กำลังดูแลรักษาและพัฒนาวัฒนธรรมของตนให้งอกงาม

  ก้าวเข้าสู่ปีที่ 5 ของการดำเนินโครงการวิจัยและพัฒนาพิพิธภัณฑ์ท้องถิ่น ศูนย์มานุษยวิทยาสิรินธร (องค์การมหาชน) ได้พบปะพิพิธภัณฑ์มากมายในหลายเวทีท้องถิ่น และตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการสร้างเวทีสาธารณะ จึงเห็นควรริเริ่มจัดงานเทศกาลพิพิธภัณฑ์ท้องถิ่น (Local Museum Festival) ในระหว่างวันที่ 3 - 5 พฤศจิกายน 2551 ณ ศูนย์มานุษยวิทยาสิรินธร กรุงเทพฯ เพื่อเป็นเวทีกลางให้สมาชิกเครือข่ายได้สานสัมพันธ์ร่วมแบ่งปันประสบการณ์ระหว่างชุมชนคนทำงานพิพิธภัณฑ์ท้องถิ่น และจัดแสดงนิทรรศการเผยแพร่ประชาสัมพันธ์ให้บุคคลทั่วไปได้รู้จักมากยิ่งขึ้น นอกจากนี้ยังเปิดเวทีวิชาการนำเสนอผลงานวิจัยที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาด้านพิพิธภัณฑ์ รวมทั้งวงเสวนา-เล่าเรื่องประสาคนท้องถิ่นเพื่อเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจในความหลากหลายของวัฒนธรรม

Have you ever collected objects for sentimental reasons or because of your sense of personal connection to them? Have you ever collected certain things because they remind you of your ancestors or someone you love? Have you ever sought to acquire certain objects because of their uniqueness, their aesthetic beauty, or the stories that they tell?

If the answer is yes, the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (Public Organization) invites you to meet some fellow collectors-the organizers and operators of Thailand’s local museums.

Thailand is home to hundreds of local museums established and managed by local communities and/or private individuals. It is now approaching the 5^th year of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre’s Local Museums Research and Development Project, and during these past five years, SAC has learned a great deal about Thailand’s local museums.

Showcasing local museums from throughout the country, this festival brings together local museum organizers to tell their stories of collecting and to share experiences of museum work. The three-day festival also offers an excellent opportunity for the public to learn more about Thailand’s cultural diversity through its wide variety of museums.

The festival will present 75 local museum exhibits organized according to the following sub-themes: objects in daily life, people and their pleasures, objects and memories, and ethnic diversity. In addition, each day of the festival will feature several roundtable sessions for museum organizers and international experts to share experiences and approaches to various aspects of community-based museums. (See Program)

The festival is free and open to the public.
